PARVAQUONE INJECTION 150 MG/ML (VET)
COMPOSITION:
Each ml contains
Parvaquone 150mg
Sorbitan monooleate B.P. 100mg
(As a preservative)
Oil base q.s
INDICATIONS:
East Coast Fever (ECF, Theileria parva infection) of cattle. Parvaquone kills the schizont and piroplasm state of parasites. The product may be used in animals showing clinical signs of Theileriosis and it can be also used as prophylaxis in infected animals that are not showing the signs.
CONTRAINDICATION:
Parvaquone shows no side effects with any other commonly used veterinary products.
ROUTE:
Intramuscular route into the neck muscles.

Calves: 1 ml per 50 kg

SIDE EFFECTS:
East Coast Fever is an immunosuppressive disease. In asymptomatic carriers of other ticks transmitted diseases, particularly Anaplasmosis, the carrier stage may be precipitated into severe clinical Anaplasmosis. This is often characterized by low parasitemia and profound anemia. Concurrent infection of ECF with Babesiasis or Cowdriosis (Heartwater) may be also encountered.

Milk: 14 days
Meat: 28 days
STORAGE:
Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Protect from light.
PRECAUTIONS:
Should never be given by Intravenous or Subcutaneous route.
